RECENT EVENTS

Jan 29- Inter-Barn Show at Talbot Run- A chilly but successful day for URC at the Inter-Barn Series.  What makes this series so fun (and difficult) is riding horses you don't know and with no warm-up!  Riders need to figure their mounts out in a matter of minutes then compete on the flat as well as over fences.  Anna started us off riding a lovely pony mare named Lolli and brought home a 1st and two 3rds! Megan also had a good draw with a horse named Friday.  Megan had three 3rds.  Claire had a very sensitive horse but kept him settled for a 1st, 3rd and 4th!  Kristin had perhaps the most difficult draw with a 13.0 hand games pony named Goblin. Kristin had a blast riding her for a 1st and two 4ths but riding such a small pony over 2'6 fences can be a challenge!  Feb 26th is the series Finale and Pot Luck here at URC!  URC hopes to have a full team of 10 riders for next year's series so if you are interested please come and watch in Feb!

Jan 27- Swan Lake A Rated- Sorry, no pictures for this show :-(  A windy but mild Friday evening brought a moderate amount of competition to the rated jumpers.  Ashley brought her young Mystic who put in a "young" effort :-)  BUT... Ashley also brought the magnificent Fred who won the 3'6 jumper class in the "it's no big deal" Fred style!  Just to brag a bit about my Wally... he jumped his first 4' rated course in true style! :-)

Jan 21- A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our WBTA Year End Winners Ashley with Fred-A-Stare Champion in the the Modified Jumpers and Nicole with Midnight Moon Champion in the Child/Adult Jumpers!  You looked beautiful for your banquet!

Jan 17- URC Jumper Show- A nice evening for a show.  Difficult courses made for an evening of few jump-offs.  The problems were dispersed evenly throughout the course with flat cups on choice jumps claiming the most victims! Ashley, Jessie and Kristen led the 3'3-3'6 field.  Kristin and Delaney were the 2'9-3'0 winners with Rachel and Claire H chasing them.  Emily and Claire R were the leaders in the 2'3-2'6 division and Helen and Madi led the 18"-2'0 classes.  Great job guys!  Pictured below are:  Jessie and Wish, Kristin and Irish (fastest time of the evening by 8 seconds!), Delaney and Armani, Claire H. and Solitaire, Claire R and Snacks, Emily and Kisses, Madi and Saki.

Jan 15- Bascule Jumper Show- A last minute change show plans brought only four of us to Bascule on a chilly day.  Ashley and Fred were 1st, 3rd and 4th.  Erin and Ollie were 3rd and 6th.  Siobhan and Louis were 4th and 7th.  Hopefully everyone has thawed out by now!

Jan 7- Swan Lake Schooling Jumper Show- A gorgeous day made for a huge turn-out.  The smallest class had 19 entries!  Ashley and Mystic were Reserve Champion in the 2'9s.  Michelle and Sketch won a 5th in the 2'9s, Maria and Summer won a 4th in the 2'9s.  Delaney and Armani had a very good day. Rachel and Sambuca were 6th in the 2'9s.  Kristen and Cash won a 5th in the 3'3s.  Kristin and Irish won a 1st, 4th and 5th in the 3'3s.  Erin and Ollie were Champion in the 3'3s.  Congrats everyone!  Thanks Erin for the pics!

Dec. 20- URC Jumper Show #3- 54 jump trips & a party later & I am a happy camper!  Congrats to everyone for jobs well done :-)  Thanks to all my volunteers! Pictured below are: Lexi & PJ,  Annalee & Splash,  Lisa & Sapphire, Megan & Sterling,  AND Claudia & Swizzle.  Check for results on "jumper show results" link. Hope to see everyone again in Jan.

Dec. 18- Swan Lake Rated Jumpers- Another great turn out at Swan Lake!  Erin and Ollie were Champion in the large High Hopeful Jumper division... Way to Go Erin!  Maggie and Crasher were Reserved Champion in the very competitive 3'3 Pony Jumper Division... Congrats Maggie!  Ashley and Fred (not pictured) were 2nd in the 3'6 Schooling Jumpers.  You guys make me very proud!

CONGRATS! Maggie and Crasher rocked the difficult courses for a 3rd & 6th, finishing 6th in the Region!
