The
summer full day Kids Club is an informal, physically active
environment for girls ages 6-15 and boys ages 6-12 offered during the

Children are placed in groups according to age and
gender and we strive to keep our staff to member ratios at 1 to 10.
Our specialists, such as our horseback riding, climbing wall, and

A
Typical Day at the Summer
Kids Club:
Members
arrive between 7am and 9am with scheduled activities beginning at 9am.
A typical day at Urbana Riding Club has members riding and swimming
each day plus two or three additional activities which
change throughout the week, these activities include archery, climbing
wall, crafts, field sports and many more.
Members are encouraged but not forced to participate. Changed
for 2008: The return of full camp activities on Fridays such as Counselor
Fashion Show, Spirit Day, Capture the Halter and more.
Sign out procedures: Parents must sign their children out when they pick
up at the bus stop and at the riding club! To avoid confusion, we
ask that you not change bus times in the afternoons but if
you need to pick up early please phone ahead and pick your child up before
3:45 at the club. We will not accept changes told to us by your
children!
Suggested
things to bring each day:
A bagged lunch with nonperishable food which will be refrigerated.
Long pants to ride in. Closed toe shoes with a short heel to ride
in. Riding helmet with your name in it if you have one, if not, we
have helmets for borrow (no bike helmets). Bathing suit and
towel. Wear shorts and sneakers, sandals are not advisable in this
environment. Please apply sunscreen each morning and send more for
your child to apply later. Our staff are not allowed to apply
sunscreen to the children. Wearing shirts in the pool for extra sun
protection is advised. Children may bring a few dollars for snacks
from the camp store. No large amounts of money or valuables should
be brought to camp as we have non-locking cubbies. Please leave
electronic games at home, they will not be permitted at camp. Phones
may be brought at your own risk but their use will be restricted to before
and after care. This is a farm environment which means your children
will get dirty, please keep this in mind when choosing the clothes they
wear.
Lunch: Lunch is not
provided. Members should
bring a clearly labeled disposable bag lunch with nonperishable items that
will be refrigerated upon arrival. Soda,
Gatorade, candy, and Popsicles are available at the club store.
