Summer Camp Full Day Activities!
Horseback riding is the focus of our camp! All summer camp program participants have the opportunity to ride daily, including a lesson or trail ride every day. Arena lessons are conducted in our Outdoor arenas; trail rides are on URC property through the woods or fields, and even to the creek to let the horse's splash around. (No camper is ever forced to ride.) Campers in these groups will learn basic skills along with many aspects of riding and horse care. Previous horseback riding experience is not required to participate in horse care or our camp programs.
All camp activity rotations include swimming daily, (weather permitting). Campers are given a swim test at the start of their first camp week to assess their swimming abilities.
Beginner swimmers are assigned floatation devices. Certified life guards and spotters oversee activities at all times. Our girls and boys locker rooms for changing include private toilets and showers. Check out that water slide!
Nature hikes along the Little Bennett Branch of the Monocacy River and wildlife walks in the abundant woods are always a hit…bring your river shoes!
Our 24-foot indoor climbing wall and bouldering wall allow campers to experience the thrills of rock climbing. URC Staff are certified in this activity.
The Pony Spa
Most campers love to groom and wash the horses. The Pony Spa along with our four indoor wash stalls provide plenty of opportunity for campers to care for horses if they like. Horses love it, too!!
Soccer, baseball, basketball, Frisbee, and archery are some of the fun filled field sports the club encourages members to participate in. The focus is on individual improvement.
Arts & Crafts
Our 3000 square foot recreation hall offers plenty of room to experiment in painting, sand art, beads, gimp, ceramics, and more.
Clue hunts, mystery races and silly lawn games keep the kids guessing what's next!
Giant Slip-N Slide
The 150 foot hill slide will thrill even the bravest kids.
Includes tetherball, merry-go-round, play castle & ship, balance beam, and swings.
Camp special events and surprises make each week fun for both our campers and staff!
Archery is one of our most popular activities! Campers will receive basic (certified) instruction and have the opportunity to practice hitting the targets. URC's Camp Director is certified in this activity.
